A stoma cap is a tiny, closed pouch, which has capacity to hold a small amount of stool and is discreet under clothing. They are generally only a suitable product for a person who has an end colostomy with a predictable output, or those with a relatively inactive Mucous fistula. However, there are many uses where stoma caps come in very handy for short term wear such as during sports, swimming or intimate moments. For those who are experienced irrigating and can control when their colon is empty can use a stoma cap full time. Irrigating means there is little to no need to wear a full sized pouch but it does take some practice and time to train your colon (and yourself) to irrigate properly.
