Between September 9th – 11th Oakmed will be heading down to the ICC in Birmingham to exhibit at the 6th annual meeting of the Association of Stoma Care Nurses UK (ASCN UK). Weâre looking forward to exhibiting our products and talking with the nurses on the frontline, as well as an exciting programme, this year themed âBreaking Barriers and Enhancing Relationshipsâ.
As always, the conference will feature insightful workshops, seminars and talks. This year Sundayâs key events are based on âbridging the dementia gap in stoma careâ, held by ASCN UK Area Reps, Michaela Parker and Carolyn Swash, and âsexual intimacy and functionâ, which will be led by Lorraine Grover, Psychosexual Nurse Specialist at the London Clinic.
On Monday there will be open mic clinical case studies as well as a session on âbreaking barriers and enhancing relationshipsâ, as well as a keynote address from Lorraine Grover following up on her workshop. There will also be sessions on âchallenging the status quo or service deliveryâ and âadding a spotlight onto specialist practiceâ. Finally, the much-anticipated award presentations where there will be three categories up for grabs:
- Stoma Care Nurse of the Year
- New Presenters Award
- Urostomy Research Award
The final day of the conference fall on Tuesday, where attendees can take part in a breakfast workshop, Â as well as sessions on âbreaking down the barriersâ, âadvancing surgical and collaborative practiceâ and âclinical practiceâ.
